You’re just 4 ingredients away from these super easy vegan dog treats. Feed them to your own pupp, or make care packages for some lucky dogs. I set aside a few to give away to some of Blizz’s friends!

Just 4 ingredients
While I made these cookies for Blizz, they are safe for humans to eat too since there’s no wonky ingredients in them. I just used up what we had at home— sweet potato, apple sauce, peanut butter almond butter, and flour. Blizz loves peanut butter but we didn’t have any left, oops!

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been experimenting with making sourdough starter & even successfully made a few loaves. I didn’t realize though that I was almost out of white flour before kicking off this project. Again —oops. Thankfully, there was still plenty of whole wheat flour in our cupboard. When you’re making these, just go with what you have on hand, no need to stress, both work fine 🙂

Easy Vegan Dog Treats—Ingredients
- 1 large sweet potato (cooked)
- 1/2 cup apple sauce ( I used an unsweetened one because—why not)
- 1/2 cup nut butter. (These were almond butter, but peanut butter is always a hit!)
- 2.5 cups of flour

How to make these easy vegan dog treats
You’ll want to bring out your food processor for this one. Put all the ingredients in except the flour. You’re looking for the consistency of what I imagine baby food looks like. Process it until everything is well incorporated and there are no more chunks.
Next up, you’ll add your flour to a large bowl, and scoop in the mixture from your food processor. Use you hands to mix it all up—it’ll be one less dish to put away later. You should be able to form a ball with the dough. If it’s too sticky, add some more flour.
Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.
You’re practically in the home stretch now. Flour your working surface and then start rolling out your dough. These cookies wont have much of a rise, you can make them as thick or as thin as you’d like.

Place your dog treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper & pop them in the oven! They’ll need to bake for about 20 minutes.
Let them cool on a rack before feeding them to your BFF.
If you make these, I wouldn’t be opposed to you sending me a picture of your dog eating them on instagram at Eh Vegan 😉
Happy baking,
Vic & Blizz
