Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t get enough protein on a plant-based diet. You most definitely can. Plant-based protein sources include quinoa, lentils, soy, chickpeas, seitan, beans… PLANTS HAVE PROTEIN Y’ALL. You can even get it in at breakfast without eating bacon or sausage. How ’bout that?!

Plenty of options, but how many great ones?

Are you putting up with a grittiness in your plant-based protein? I know you know what I’m talking  about.  Trade up! The protein in Botanica Perfect Protein is sourced from coconut and quinoa, and it goes down smoooooth. Botanica’s unique blend might just be the only protein powder you ever buy again, for more reasons than just texture!

Blizzard is always interested in snacking on whatever we’re eating.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really shy away from sugar. I don’t need more reasons to disappoint myself, so right now my sugar consumption is what it is, you feel me? I mention that because after trying Perfect Protein, I was surprised to read that there is no sweetener added. Lemme say that again. Not just no sugar added — no sweetener added at all — and I didn’t even miss it!

And there’s more good news! Botanica Perfect Protein is:

  • Organic
  • Non-GMO
  • Gluten Free
  • Sugar Free
  • Vegan

re-think protein

Forget the idea that you can only get protein from meat. It just isn’t true. Now, if you know me at all, you know I’m not protein-powder-shaker-gymshark-dude. Not even close. But a breakfast that leaves me feeling full and focused is important, so that I can get my work done between breakfast and lunch.

Protein powder is a great way to get me through the morning. I love to bake, so when I don’t have a smoothie, I find that hearty breakfast muffins are the perfect place to sneak in some extra protein! There’s a recipe for them below.

If you’re not into baking, that’s cool, because Botanica Perfect Protein is pretty darn perfect in shakes too!

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients separately.
  3. Either by hand or with a stand mixer, combine the dry with and wet until there are no dry spots.
  4. In either a loaf pan or muffin try, grease or line with baking cups. Fill with batter.
  5. Bake 30-35 minutes, checking with a toothpick at the 30 minute mark. It will come out clean from the centre when they are done. Muffins will cook quicker than a large loaf.

Enjoy! <3
